Description

Postdoctoral position in Cryogenic Correlative Light and EM research within the department of Chemistry and BioChemistry available in the Institute for Collaborative Biotechnologies at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Research conducted to establish a transformative workflow that allows imaging of 3D fluorescence signals of pristinely preserved engineered biological materials and embedded macromolecular machines or cells by combining cryogenic electron tomography and fluorescence microscopy.

Requirements

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Applicants must hold PhD in cell biology, molecular biology, or related fields with strong background in mammalian cell culture at time of application.

Additional qualifications (required at time of start)

PhD must be conferred at time of appointment. PhD must have been completed within the last 5 years, as of the start date of employment.

Preferred qualifications

Demonstrable experience in high-resolution light microscopy or electron microcopy. Applicants must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a team.
