The Department of Health Sciences in Crean College of Health and Behavioral Sciences at Chapman University invites applications for a non-tenure track full-time Instructional Assistant Professor of Health Sciences position beginning August 2026. Applicants from all areas of health sciences, and especially in the field of anatomy, will be considered.

Each faculty line is renewable based on performance, department needs, and funding. Full-time instructional faculty in renewable lines at Chapman University play critical roles in the program for teaching, pedagogy, advising, and service; have the opportunity for promotion to associate and full professor; and have full votes on matters of faculty governance at both program and college levels.
Responsibilities
- The successful candidate will teach core courses in the major related to their expertise in health sciences including Anatomy (lecture and/or lab).
- The candidate will engage in department and university service (e.g., advising students, serving on department or university committees).
Requirements
Qualifications
We welcome faculty whose area of expertise adds to or complements current areas of strength in our faculty.
Required
- Ph.D. in Health Sciences, Anatomy, Clinical Anatomy, Human Physiology, Applied Physiology or a related clinical field (e.g. DPT, PA, etc.)
- Experience teaching at the university level
Preferred
- Evidence of past or potential excellence in teaching courses
- Experiences or potential in mentoring students
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to teach core lecture and/or lab courses in areas such as human anatomy, neuroanatomy, advanced anatomy, or related fields.
