POSITION PURPOSE
Anoka-Ramsey Community College is seeking an unlimited, full-time Biology faculty member. The primary responsibilities of the position include teaching a two-semester Human Anatomy and Physiology sequence intended mainly for students majoring in nursing, health science, and allied health. This position may be assigned other Biology courses for majors and non-majors.
ARCC has a strong commitment to innovative, active, student-centered teaching practices including service learning, undergraduate research (independent and course-based), online and hybrid learning. The successful candidate will practice continuous improvement through ongoing content- and pedagogy-related professional development and will work collaboratively with colleagues in service to the department, division, and college.
The faculty member may be expected to teach a variety of evening, online, and/or hybrid course sections associated with both campuses in Cambridge and Coon Rapids.
This position is assigned to the Biology credential field. Graduate coursework in related areas may be considered in-field for Biology.
Anoka Ramsey Community College has one unlimited-full time faculty member at our Rapids campus as well as one unlimited full-time faculty member at our Cambridge Campus. Please apply to the appropriate location you are interested in.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education Requirement:
- Master's degree with a major in Biology or
- Master's degree in any discipline/field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits (27 graduate quarter credits) in Biology.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Teaching experience, formal or informal, in a Human Anatomy and Physiology sequence
- Experience or strategies in designing and implementing evidence-based, student-centered teaching and learning practices to support student success such as active learning, culturally responsive teaching, and other methods
- Demonstrated strategies for addressing the academic needs and supporting the success of diverse and multicultural student populations, including students who are BIPOC, first-generation, LGBTQIA+, non-traditional, non-native speakers of English, students with disabilities, dual enrollment high-school students, and others
- Demonstrated success working collaboratively with others, for example, within the classroom, department, broader college community, and/or other professional collaborations
- Experience or strategies in engaging students in project-based learning or course-based undergraduate research within the community college setting
SALARY & BENEFITS
Full-time faculty salaries are based on an evaluation of education and related experience after a job offer has been accepted and currently range from $51,303-$94,592. Full-time faculty work 171 days during a nine-month academic year and receive excellent benefits including health insurance, life insurance, dental insurance, short and long-term disability, paid personal and sick leave, retirement savings plans, tuition waiver for employees and dependents, professional development funds, along with many optional benefit programs.
** Please note, Initial Step Placement is established by the Minnesota State College Faculty (MSCF) contract which sets limitations to the initial salary of a new faculty member. This may differ from the maximum salary range in this posting. For more information, please visit the collective bargaining agreement between Minnesota State College Faculty (MSCF) and the State of Minnesota. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
