Assistant Professor or Instructor of Biological Sciences
Job Summary
We seek an individual who is (1) passionate about teaching undergraduate anatomy & physiology, introductory biology, or histology courses, (2) committed to service to the program and university, and (3) invested in student success. If you desire to make a difference in the lives of undergraduate students, the Department of Biology in the Getty College of Arts & Sciences at Ohio Northern University invites you to apply for a renewable-track faculty position to begin August 18, 2026. Review of applications will begin November 16, 2025 and continue until the position is filled.
Principle Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will teach anatomy & physiology or histology courses, introductory biology courses, and offer versatility in teaching or co-teaching other undergraduate biology courses. Ohio Northern University faculty teach 23-25 credit hours per academic year. Additional responsibilities include advising undergraduate students and service. Required Skills:
The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to inclusive pedagogical strategies that engage today’s students, experience with contemporary and traditional laboratory techniques in anatomy & physiology or histology, strong interpersonal skills, and the interest and ability to mentor students both inside and outside the classroom. Candidates with expertise to teach anatomy & physiology or histology, in addition to other biological content areas, are encouraged to apply.
Minimum Qualifications:
A master’s degree in Biology, Anatomy, or a related discipline is required. Candidates with doctoral degrees are encouraged to apply. Rank at the level of Instructor or Assistant Professor will be commensurate with highest degree earned.
